33 OpenCode Go and Operation CheapSeek
Ever since DeepSeek increased its pricing for V4 Flash, Anomaly/OpenCode has been working on what it calls Operation CheapSeek. The project aims to host DeepSeek for as cheaply as possible on third-party hardware and pass the savings on to subscribers. On October 12, it increased the DeepSeek V4.1 Flash usage allowance to $80 on the $10 Go plan. The allowance jumped to $100 on October 30 as part of Phase 4 of the operation. Might we see $120 this month? Or more?1
The architecture of DeepSeek is quite amenable to low-cost inference. The company even open-sourced parts of its inference framework (DeepInfer) last month.
